Report Card
At Spark Asher Academy, we provide official Ontario Secondary School Report Cards at the midterm and completion of each course. These reports are crucial documents for tracking your academic progress.
Here’s what you’ll find:
- Percentage Grade: Reflects your achievement level based on coursework and a final evaluation.
- Learning Skills: Evaluated in six areas (Responsibility, Organization, etc.) using a four-point scale.
- Teacher Comments: Highlight your strengths, progress made, and areas for improvement.
Ontario Student Transcript (OST)
The OST is an official record of all your secondary school courses maintained by your home school.
We can help you understand its key components:
- Credits: Earned upon successful completion of a course (minimum 110 hours).
- Grades: Recorded for Grade 11 and 12 courses attempted, including withdrawals.
- Compulsory Credits: Tracks progress towards the 18 mandatory credits required for graduation.
- Equivalent Credits: Awarded for approved out-of-province or non-inspected private school courses.
Important Notes:
- Withdrawals within 5 days of the first report card issuance won’t appear on your OST.
- Grade 11 & 12 withdrawals after 5 days receive a “W” and the withdrawal mark.
- Withdrawals from Grade 9 & 10 courses aren’t recorded on the OST.
- Repeated Courses: Only one credit is awarded, with a lower mark denoted by an “R” on the OST.
Ontario Secondary School
Diploma (OSSD)
The OSSD is your graduation goal! You’ll earn it by:
- Completing 30 credits (18 compulsory)
- Fulfilling the Ontario Literacy Requirement
- Completing 40 hours of Community Involvement Activities
We issue the OSSD if you complete all courses with us or earn your final credits here. The OSSD from Spark Asher Academy is recognized by colleges and universities worldwide, just like any public or inspected private school in Ontario.
Ontario Student
Record (OSR)
The OSR is your official school record, maintained by your home school.
It contains detailed information about your academic journey, including:
- Form 1A
- Provincial Report Card: OES will file both the midterm and final report cards in the student’s OSR or OES will send these report cards to the student’s school where this OSR is held
- Ontario School Transcript (OST)
- Documentation Files for such things as IPRC, IEP, psychological assessments, Violent Incident Form, etc.
- Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) Challenge for Credit: Cumulative Tracking Record
- Annual Community Involvement Report
- Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test results
Spark Asher Academy maintains your OSR only if we become your sole educational provider. We ensure all OSRs are kept secure in a locked cabinet accessible only to the Principal.
