Course Overview
This course enables students to broaden their understanding of relationships and extend their problem-solving and algebraic skills through investigation, the effective use of technology, and abstract reasoning. Students will explore quadratic relations and their applications; solve and apply linear systems; verify properties of geometric figures using analytic geometry; and investigate the trigonometry of right and acute triangles. Students will reason mathematically and communicate their thinking as they solve multi-step problems.
UNIT ONE
Systems of Linear Equations
In this unit, students will be introduced to the concepts of linear equations allowing them to learn the different ways of dealing with such systems. Students will take a closer at linear systems by analysing them graphically.
UNIT TWO
Analytic Geometry
Students will cover all the various concepts and key ideas of geometry in this unit. This will enable them to easily progress not only to the next units however higher level Mathematics as well.
UNIT THREE
Quadratic Relations
This unit will let the students with quadratic relations and their different ways of evaluation. Students throughout this unit will make steady progress in analysing and applying the ideas of quadratics.
UNIT FOUR
Trigonometry
In this unit, students will study the principles of trigonometry that are vital to be known when dealing with situations involving complex trigonometric evaluations. Students will be given the opportunity of developing a deeper understanding and sense of trigonometry.
