Course Overview
This course focuses on enhancing the literacy, communication, and critical and creative thinking skills essential for academic and everyday success. Students will analyze a diverse array of challenging literary texts from different periods, countries, and cultures; interpret and evaluate informational and graphic texts; and create oral, written, and media texts in various formats. A key emphasis will be on using academic language coherently and confidently, choosing the most effective reading strategies for specific texts and purposes, and gaining greater control in writing. The course aims to prepare students for university, college, or the workplace.
