Course Overview

In this course, students will discover the key factors that contribute to entrepreneurial success and the essential skills needed in the modern business world. They will start to cultivate their own entrepreneurial mindset, learning the importance of taking initiative, adapting to change, finding creative solutions, and understanding the financial aspects of entrepreneurship. This practical course will utilize business software and applications to help students plan and develop their entrepreneurial ideas, as well as learn how to effectively present them to a target audience. Throughout the course, students will improve their communication skills and enhance their project management abilities, including goal setting, time management, and networking.

Unit 1: Understanding Entrepreneurship

  • Essential Question: What defines an entrepreneur and what traits are commonly seen in successful entrepreneurs?
  • Overview: Students will explore the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, focusing on traits like initiative, adaptability, and creativity. They’ll examine case studies of renowned entrepreneurs to identify these traits in action.

Unit 2: Developing the Entrepreneurial Mindset

  • Essential Question: Why is an entrepreneurial mindset important for success in today’s world?
  • Overview: This unit delves into the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset, discussing how to embrace change and generate innovative solutions to problems. Students will participate in activities that push them to think outside the box and respond dynamically to hypothetical business challenges.

Unit 3: Entrepreneurial Skills in Practice

  • Essential Question: How can entrepreneurial skills be applied in various business scenarios?
  • Overview: Students will apply their learning by engaging in projects that require planning, development, and presentation of business ideas. They will use business software and other tools to simulate the creation and management of a startup.

Unit 4: Financial Fundamentals for Entrepreneurs

  • Essential Question: What are the basic financial considerations every entrepreneur should understand?
  • Overview: This unit covers the financial aspects of entrepreneurship, including understanding costs, revenue, profit, and financial planning. Students will learn how to manage budgets and financial forecasts in a business setting.

Unit 5: Project Management and Communication

  • Essential Question: How do effective project management and communication contribute to entrepreneurial success?
  • Overview: Focusing on essential soft skills, this unit teaches students about goal setting, time management, and networking. They will engage in exercises that enhance their communication skills and learn how to present their business ideas effectively.
