Course Overview

This course is specifically designed to help students prepare for their transition into the workforce. Throughout the course, students will have multiple opportunities to identify and improve their existing skill sets. They will learn how to leverage these skills into job prospects in the real world. The course concludes with the creation of a resume, cover letter, and practical portfolio, which students can use to advance further along the path to their dream job.

UNIT ONE
Personal Knowledge and Management Skills 

  • Essential Question: How do personal skills impact career success?

Focuses on self-assessment and understanding personal skills relevant to career paths.

UNIT TWO
Interpersonal Knowledge and Skills 

  • Essential Question: How do interpersonal relations shape workplace effectiveness?

Explores the dynamics of workplace behavior and community interaction.

UNIT THREE
Exploration of Opportunities 

  • Essential Question: What factors influence career decisions?

Investigates career opportunities and essential workplace rights and legislation.

UNIT FOUR
Preparation for Transitions and Change

Prepares students for job searches and the creation of application materials.
